Miami hopes the casino will complete the transformation of Miami to a tourist destination.

1st Las Vegas Style Casino in Miami

The building of the new Ottawa tribal casino has begun recently. The 20 million dollars Four Winds Casino will be the first Las Vegas style casino in Miami. The casino will create 150 jobs and its profits will provide social services to the tribes members.

The casino building will also contribute transforming Miami into a tourist destination. According to Brian Barger, the director of economic development for Miami, the casinos that exist in the state employ more than 1,000 people. The tribes have invested around 200 million dollars in the casinos, Barger said.

Barger believes that in time the casino will lead to development of new hotels, restaurants and entertainment halls, which will create more job opportunities. Miami and the tribal council are collaborating to lead Miami to economic development. In the meantime, the Miami hotels are gaining higher profits from the development.
