New Ark City Tribal Casino

Native Lights Casino is planned to be open by March. Mario Hernandez, the casino operator, said that the casino is receiving last permissions from the National Indian Gaming Commission.

Hernandez hopes the new casino located south of Ark City will be opened before next month. In addition to the National Indian Gaming permissions, the casino opening has to wait to the state examination of the casino employees criminal background.

The Native Lights Casino has been advertising on radio and television. The tribe also advertised the casino in billboards in Wichita, hoping to attract large population to the area between Arkansas City and Newkirk. On top of the Native Lights Casino, the Kaw Nation added lately table games to its casino located east of Newkirk and the Pawnee Nation plans to build a casino hotel west of the Tonkawa site.
